Tom Tamarez (1901-63) was a Syrian-born actor who appeared in an estimated eighteen films from 1929 to 1963. It is unclear what he was doing the rest of the time.
Being Syrian, and given Hollywood’s casting system, Tamarez was inevitably cast in a variety of ‘exotic’ roles: Indian (several times), Arab, Central and South American, even a member of a lost tribe in a Tarzan picture.
Tamarez made uncredited appearances in four MGM musicals: Student Tour, Yolanda and the Thief, Two Sisters from Boston and Holiday in Mexico.
