Mary Anita Loos (1910-2004) was a screenwriter and novelist who had a handful of screen roles in the mid-thirties.

Loos worked as a publicist after graduating. It is asserted that she became a screenwriter, in partnership with her husband Richard Sale, in 1941, though her first confirmed script was for Rendezvous with Annie (1946).

Over the next ten years, Loos worked on around twenty-five screenplays, including Mr Belvedere Goes to College (1949), Mother is a Freshman (1949), A Ticket to Tomahawk (1950), John Ford’s When Willie Comes Marching Home (1950) and Gentlemen Marry Brunettes (1955), which was inspired by the writing of her aunt, Anita Loos.

Loos later worked as a story editor in television and wrote four novels.

Two, or possibly three, of Loos’s uncredited screen roles were in MGM musicals: Student Tour, Naughty Marietta (allegedly) and Rose-Marie.
