Marcia Mascotte Ralston (1906-88) was working as an actor in Australia when she married Phil Harris and left with him for the United States.
Ralston appeared in around twenty films, often uncredited, usually in supporting roles, but occasionally as the lead in lower-budget pictures such as Sh! The Octopus (1937).
As her career declined into bit parts, Ralston began working as a dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. After a long-absence from the screen, she played a nurse in episodes of Marcus Welby MD in the 1970s. The series starred her brother-in-law, Robert Young.
Way back in 1934, Ralston played a show girl in MGM’s Hollywood Party.
