George Howard Blandford (1905-83) was one of those hardworking bit players whose total output will probably never be verified. The AFI accords him appearances in around forty feature films, while IMDb claims around 280, plus many television episodes. His career was almost entirely made up of uncredited, unnamed roles.
Ford was, apparently, a talented ballroom dancer, which secured him many appearances as party guests and nightclub patrons. Those skills were of less help in his frequent ‘B’ western roles.
Pictures in which Ford appeared include Cat People (1942), A Song is Born (1948), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) and John Ford’s The Last Hurrah (1958).
Ford made appearances in fifteen MGM musicals: Hollywood Party, I Married an Angel, A Date with Judy, Luxury Liner, Three Little Words, The Duchess of Idaho, Grounds for Marriage, Show Boat, Singin’ in the Rain, Because You’re Mine, The Band Wagon, Rose Marie, It’s Always Fair Weather, The Opposite Sex and Silk Stockings.
