Surprisingly little seems to be known about Eddie Rojar Das (1897-1956), given that he was a rare Hollywood supporting player born in Sri Lanka (then called Ceylon).
Das appeared in a dozen or so films between 1934 and 1956, so film acting was clearly not his chief source of income. The pictures included The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935) and Laurel and Hardy’s Bonnie Scotland (1935).
Das’s first screen appearance seems to have been as one of the fakirs in MGM’s Student Tour.
